For those that want to start making the most of the great outdoors, bushcraft is a great hobby to take up.
And when it comes to bushcraft, Knowledge is just as important as having the right gear. There is a world of advice on the internet but we have some great tutorials from Sgt Fruitcake who can show you the basics. Our suggestion would be to have some practice runs first in your local woodlands to help build on and develop your skills and experience.
What sort of equipment do you need? Firstly, work out what sort of terrain you’ll be on and what the likely weather conditions are going to be. This will help you pack the right clothing, sleeping attire and shelter. The next key skills you need are; making shelter; chopping/collection fire wood and starting a fire.
