Bushcraft is all about enjoying nature and having the skills and knowledge to thrive outdoors. There’s a number of exciting and exhilarating skills needed which include hunting/fishing/finding food stuff, building shelter, tracking and firecraft. We’re keen on the sport of bushcrafting and know a thing or two about it as do many of our customers and fans, which is why we have specific page set up under ‘activities’ on the website http://www.snugpak.com/outdoor/expeditions/bushcraft is popular and made it our ‘activity of the month’ on the blog . So if you’re setting off on a bushcraft adventure, getting a good night’s sleep is essential so that you enjoy it rather than feeling tired and irritable. And when it comes to outdoor sleeping equipment, we know what we’re talking about. Here’s what we suggest as a pretty good set up for a quality kip: First of all you need a hammock that’s strong, quick and easy to set up, and will stay reliably in place all night. It comes with a Suspension Attachment System which makes setting up simple, […] Read more!

by Snugpak April 07, 2014 in News 0 comments tags: Camping, Easter, Tips
There’s nothing better than the great outdoors and fresh air when it comes to spending time with the family, and finally tearing the kids away from their computer games. If you’re looking for a cost effective way to holiday this year, camping is a great option. As most parents know, taking the kids on holiday is never straightforward, so to make sure you’re prepared and the holiday is a success, we’ve come up with some top tips: • If you’ve got young children, you don’t want the noise of the campsite entertainment area keeping your little ones awake. Double check when booking, that your pitch is in an appropriate area. • GAME TIME! Camping is a great holiday to get the kids active and moving. Make sure you’ve stocked up on entertainment to keep boredom at bay. Check with the campsite first to see if they supply, but you may need to pack your own footballs, bat and balls, tennis rackets, swimming gear etc. • There’s usually some sort of kids club at most campsites – when enquiring, find out more information on the times and costs before booking. During the holiday periods, it’s worth checking the carer to child […] Read more!

by Snugpak February 24, 2014 in News 0 comments

Because of that, we’ve seen the many (sometimes v weird) variations that our equipment has come to good use and help you all enjoy The Great Outdoors! So we’ve put together a round up of pics sent in over the past few months as a thank you for your contributions: As specialists in Special Forces equipment, we have this sent in from The Royal Navy – keeping them warm. Sent into Twitter via @BiancaDiResta This one was sent into Facebook by James King from a Scout Trip – making use of The Scorpion 2 tent. Stunning sunset! He said: I joined the Buntingford Phoenix Scout Troop for their Green Beret Challenge this weekend at Gilwell Park. I took the Snugpak Scorpion 2 Tent which was brilliant, even though it was covered in ice by 10pm on Friday. Plenty of room for one man and his kit, including my tiny camp kitchen, and the porch is perfect for dirty boots and water bottles etc. We had great weather and the troop came a very respectful 48th place out of 148 teams. Great review! Snugpak bringing Joy […] Read more!
